Belonging Under the Bridge
Belonging Under the Bridge is a study that illustrates the impact of a community-centered initiative designed to foster connection, dignity, and belonging among individuals experiencing homelessness and disability. Rooted in relationships and informed by research, this work brings together Baylor students, community partners, and individuals with lived experience to reimagine what it means to create spaces of welcome.
This report highlights the stories, partnerships, and outcomes that emerged from this effort—demonstrating how small, consistent acts of presence can lead to meaningful transformation. It reflects both the challenges and the possibilities of building community across difference, offering insights for churches, service organizations, and communities seeking to embody more inclusive and compassionate practices.
Through powerful storytelling and grounded reflection, Belonging Under the Bridge invites others to consider how belonging is cultivated—not through programs alone, but through relationships that honor the inherent worth of every person.
