Psychological Assessment
The Baylor Center for Disability and Flourishing (BCDF) offers assessment services that involve the administration of psychological measures to answer a specific referral question involving social, emotional, cognitive, or academic functioning. After testing is complete, the family will be provided with a comprehensive report of the assessment results, including any diagnoses, and recommendations.
Assessments are offered to children and adolescents between the ages of 3-17 years of age. Assessments can be used to evaluate symptoms associated with developmental disabilities and related concerns. For example, assessments can be used to investigate concerns related to:
- Autism Spectrum Disorder
- Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Intellectual Disabilities
- Other social, emotional, or educational difficulties
A complete assessment involves the following:
- Intake interview
- Full day of testing, generally lasting 2-5 hours
- Follow-up feedback meeting to discuss results.
A full assessment costs $500. Insurance is not accepted but sliding scale fees are available for families with financial need. Assessments are conducted in person at the Center. To schedule your assessment, please email bcdf_clinic@baylor.edu or call 254.710.7677.
Assessment services not offered at the Center: custody evaluations, mental status and/or court-mandated psychological evaluations, alcohol and drug evaluations, medication/medical management services, hospitalization services, in-patient care, expert witness testimony, and sexual abuse forensic evaluation and interviews.
