Ivette Wilhelm

Ivette Wilhelm serves as the media and communications manager for the Baylor Center for Disability and Flourishing, where she leads strategic communications, media relations, marketing, and public outreach to advance the Center’s mission. Wilhelm brings more than fifteen years of experience in communications roles spanning the nonprofit, tourism, entertainment, and advocacy sectors.
Before joining Baylor, Wilhelm led public relations efforts for the Galveston Island Convention & Visitors Bureau—now, Visit Galveston—where she was recognized nationally for her creative storytelling and strategic campaigns. Her work earned her the Public Relations Society of America’s Gold Excalibur Award for excellence in event-based community engagement and national media coverage, and she was named a "30 Under 30" honoree by Destinations International for her leadership and innovation in destination marketing.
In addition to her leadership in institutional communications, Wilhelm has provided consulting services to faith-based organizations, disability advocacy groups, and small businesses through her firm, Ivette Wilhelm Public Relations. Her portfolio spans brand positioning to crisis communications, and stakeholder engagement.
Wilhelm holds a B.S. in Advertising from The University of Texas at Austin and is a former Certified Tourism Ambassador. She is an active member of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) and is known for her creative energy, community focus, and dedication to elevating stories that foster connection and inclusion.
